Welcome to My World

Welcome to my web site.  I am a 50 something artist, freelance writer, recipe developer, cook, mother, wife, friend and GRANDMOTHER!!  Being a grandmother is the most important job that I think I have ever had in my life. The other job I presently have that has made a major difference in my life is tutoring special needs and learning disabled kids.  The more I am around them the more I realize just how important our kids are and how wonderful they can be.  Since I started working again I have also, once again, had to find a way to get in and out of the kitchen fast.  I love food, love to cook but I don't want to make a career out of it.  Actually I think I have spent most of my life trying to get into and out of a kitchen in the shortest time possible while providing healthy, nutritious meals to my family.   Along with the cooking, tutoring and grandma stuff I run a small micro press, blog, and, if time allows, spend a bit of time working in my studio.  Grab a coffee and check out my site.  Hopefully you will find a recipe or two you would like to try, a quote you'll remember or a piece of artwork that will inspire you.   Thanks for being here.

My Perfect Grandson at 16 months

I am quickly discovering that there is nothing in the entire world better than a grandchild.  They are beautiful, wonderful, adorable little critters that you can send home to Momma when you have had enough of them or them of you.   We have yet come to the part where I want to ever send him home.  If I haven't seen him for a couple of days I begin to suffer Logan withdrawal.  He is the light of my life and I am quite happy to admit that I am a doting old grandma.

 

Food, Food, Food

Onion Tales is a recipe site containing recipes.  I love to cook but I am not fussy about spending much time in the kitchen so my recipe development is devoted to good food that gets you in and out of the kitchen quickly and easily.  The recipes cover a wide range of tastes from the simple and bland to the rich and spicy hot.

Veggie Daze is a recipe site devoted to great vegetarian cuisine.  Not only does the site cater to quick and easy veggie meals but it also contains a selection of interesting articles on a diverse selection of subjects.  Most recipes are ovo lacto but there is a small selection of vegan recipes as well.

 

 

It must be borne in mind that the tragedy of life doesn't lie  in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal  to reach. It isn't a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, 
but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be  unable to capture your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no  ideal to capture. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, 
but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for. Not failure,  but low aim is a sin.
